How to buy a North Pole Magnet®

Consider these tips for buying a healing magnet.

  1. The first thing to consider is what area you want to target, for example, lower back pain. Select the appropriate link on the Product page.
  2. Choose a magnet long and deep enough to cover the area you wish to heal. The target spot should be right in the middle of the North Pole Magnet®.
  3. Make sure your selection has enough magnetic penetration to reach the area you wish to target. Magnetic penetration tells you how far into the body the therapeutic effect will reach. Some magnets work best near the skin and others can be used for internal organs.

Magnetic Penetration

When selecting a magnet, consider the material and the size. These determine the magnetic penetration. Gauss is a term used for the measurement of magnetic strength. The gauss ratings listed below refer only to the material, however a larger magnet offers more magnetic penetration.

North Pole Magnet®:  Flexible

Flexible magnets are one solid magnet with some flexibility. They have excellent field penetration to about five inches and are lightweight. They are available in a range of sizes. Gauss rating: 2450.

North Pole Magnet®:  Ceramic

These are a good choice for deep penetration to approximately 20 therapeutic inches. These heavy but effective magnets are available as bricks and discs. Gauss rating: 3950.

North Pole Magnet®:  Neodymium

Neodymium magnets are rare earth magnets and are the strongest magnetic material available. These North Pole Magnets® range in size from 1/4 inch to 1 inch in diameter and are best for surface healing. For example, use them for joints, shoulder or any target 3-4 inches into the body. Stack individual magnets for deeper penetration and to increase the intensity of the North Pole magnetic® field. Gauss rating: 12,000 to 12,500.

Note: While many research studies support the health and healing benefit of Magnetic Therapy, magnets are not to be used as a substitute for medical treatment. If you have a serious health condition, please consult a physician. Magnets are not a medical device and should not be used with a pacemaker, defibrillator or any other electrical implant or over an unborn fetus. Keep magnets at least 4-20 inches away from computer hard drives.
